Marine Repository Hub

The VIP CORALS Marine Repository Hub  currently houses marine specimens collected from Verde Island, Batangas City, Philippines. These collections are important in research, providing permanent records of the different species. Research involving these collections will help promote biodiversity, conservation, and management of the marine resources in the Verde Island Passage. We are in the process of conducting surveys and collecting specimens, as well as constructing an electronic catalogue containing images and collection information of these specimens.

In addition to the species database and museum, this project also aims to put up a library compiling reports, books, and other publications and information materials relevant for research. Some of the images of the specimens from our collections produced for this project so far can be seen here.

This page will be constantly updated as our project progresses. Kindly coordinate with our office (vipcorals.batstateu@gmail.com) if you intend to use any of the images for research or commercial purposes.
